World renowned Danish retail store Søstrene Grene is the latest operator to sign up to Cheltenham’s Brewery Quarter – the South West’s leading leisure and retail destination.

Positioned at the High Street entrance of the scheme – neighbouring Urban Outfitters, F45 and SLG, the store will introduce shoppers to a wonderful world of Scandinavian interiors, hobby items, small furniture, kitchen items, and art and craft supplies.

Dubbed as a “little Ikea”, Søstrene Grene operates in more than 260 stores around the world, and offers shoppers a whole new and wonderful experience, designed to invoke your senses.  Guests are invited to explore the labyrinth of aisles, where pleasant lighting and the smell of untreated wooden crates create a unique experience for anyone who enters the store.

The Brewery Quarter’s reputation has earned national recognition in the 2022 Property Awards, against high calibre London destinations: with recent openings including Flight Club, Brewdog, Mowgli, and Pho. With Søstrene Grene signing, the scheme is now 99% let with only a 2,000 sq ft retail unit available.

Nikki Kontarines, Director of Martin Commercial Properties Ltd – managing agents of The Brewery Quarter said: “We are delighted to secure a lease with Søstrene Grene, which follows a long list of recent aspirational openings here.  Søstrene Grene is a perfect accompaniment to the Brewery Quarter.  Like many of our great venues, it has a broad appeal to all types of customers; from young professionals through to home makers, and lovers of stylish, innovative products with appealing prices.  It underlines The Brewery Quarter’s strapline as being a fantastic location to Shop, Dine, Stay and Play.”

Chris O’Mahony, Director of Savills In Town Retail and letting agent for The Brewery Quarter said “demand for space in The Brewery Quarter in recent years has gone from strength to strength, and the calibre of brands continues to improve and complement each other, making this a market-leading scheme.  Securing Søstrene Grene is yet another coup, and we are thrilled to have assisted with this letting, that will no doubt thrive here.”

Mikkel Grene, CEO and co-owner of Søstrene Grene said: “We are very happy to be opening a store in Cheltenham which is a town we’ve wanted to trade in for a while now, and The Brewery Quarter is the perfect fit for us.  We always strive to offer our customers beautiful experiences when they visit a Søstrene Grene store and we are looking forward to bringing some traditional Danish “hygge” into shoppers’ everyday lives.”

Norma Jacob and Richard Power, who are UK Joint Venture Partners and already run Søstrene Grene stores across England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland say; “We’re delighted to be opening our newest store at The Brewery Quarter which is a perfect fit for Søstrene Grene’s beautiful world of discovery.  We look forward to an exciting Grand Opening in Cheltenham in the coming weeks where we will warmly welcome customers to the wonderful world of Anna & Clara.”

The homeware store is due to open in Cheltenham in Spring ‘23.
